"CLOUD" Seeding & Colorado Flood Conspiracies....
Fascinating ! It's just like James Bond... ...a friend sent me this article re: allegations that Colorado floods may have been directly human-induced, the result of Colorado's cloud-seeding program. Colorado's recent massive flooding had a 1 percent and 0.1 percent chance of occurring. While those odds make them rare events, this article points out "why" the floods are NOT the result of seeding...but rather, the result of natural larger-scale weather and climate patterns. But you have to admit, the idea is intriguing!... Cloud seeding, in which tiny silver iodide particles are sprayed into clouds to provide a core for ice crystals to form around, falls within the Colorado Weather Modification Program that is overseen by the Colorado Water Conservation Board ....right out of a James Bond movie....check out the article "Cloud seeding NOT to Blame..." at http://www.nbcnews.com/science/cloud-seeding-not-blame-colorado-flooding-experts-say-4B11185860
The Colorado "Weather Modification" Program......."Colorado has conducted weather modification operations and research since the 1950s, and a program to permit weather modification has existed since 1972. After the significant drought starting in early 2000, many new WM permits have been developed. Colorado is a strategic state with the headwaters of eight major river basins, and downstream states are reliant on the snowpack and stream flow generated in Colorado..... There are many types of weather modification, including ground-based snowpack augmentation, airplane-based snowpack augmentation, airplane rain augmentation, hail suppression and hail cannons. http://cwcb.state.co.us/water-management/water-projects-programs/pages/%C2%ADweathermodificationprogram.aspx

Agri Industry Seeks To Keep Polluting Factory Farm Data Secret
Until this article, I had no idea the re: magnitude of this type of pollution nor ability of the "concentrated animal feeding operations" (CAFO's)/ Corporate Farming to prevent regulation and to keep pollution information from the public "....based on the industry’s far-fetched claim that factory farm business information – such as business names and addresses – is private information that should be shielded from public view, unlike in virtually all other business sectors." The EPA estimates these operations (CAFO's) produce three times as much waste as humans. While human waste must be treated, EPA does not require factory farms to meet any waste treatment requirements despite the fact that these wastes contain pathogens, heavy metals, antibiotics and hormones.

WEBINAR - Sept 25 "Algal Blooms" EPA Sponsored
As I come across interesting and educational articles re: water I will post.... including information regarding grants....
Webinar on Harmful Algal Blooms on September 25
On September 25, 2013, EPA's Watershed Academy will host a webcast on the link between nutrient pollution and harmful algal blooms (HABs), entitled, "Linking Nutrient Pollution and HABs: State of the Science and EPA Actions." Professor Hans Paerl from the University of North Carolina will begin the webinar with a review of the scientific evidence, and EPA's Ellen Gilinsky and Mario Sengco will continue with a discussion of the relevant work of the EPA in mitigating the problem, including both the Framework for State Nutrient Reductions and the development of numeric nutrient criteria. They will conclude with suggestions for the public on how to minimize nutrient contributions from everyday activities. To register, visit www.epa.gov/watershedwebcasts.
